Many states mandate HIV/AIDS education for their students. These mandates provide a legal basis for the implementation of comprehensive education programs. National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD)
NASTAD represents state health agency staff who administer
AIDS-related health care, prevention, education, and support service programs
supported by state or federal funds. NASTAD’s Web site provides information
on policy and legislation, state
legislature activity, and links to state
AIDS programs and directors.
