Basic Statistics from CDC’s National Center for HIV,
STD, and TB Prevention: Division of HIV/ AIDS Prevention (NCHSTP-DHAP)
This Web page was developed by NCHSTP-DHAP to provide access to basic
statistics about the AIDS epidemic. The Web page allows visitors to enter
their e-mail address to receive information when it is released.
FASTATS
from the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)
This brief fact sheet was created by the National Center for Health
Statistics (NCHS) to provide simple, up-to-date information about HIV/AIDS
including cases annually, age-adjusted death rate, and hospital usage. This
fact sheet also provides links to comprehensive data on HIV/AIDS collected
between 1985 and 1998.
HIV Surveillance Reports
The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Report is published semi-annually by CDC’s
National Center for HIV, STD, and TB Prevention: Division of HIV/AIDS
Prevention. The report provides data about HIV/AIDS in the United States by
state, geographical area, sex, race/ethnicity, age, and mode of exposure.
Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report
(MMWR)
The MMWR Series is prepared weekly by CDC on current health issues
affecting states. The information in the report is provisional and is based
on reports to CDC by state health departments. Articles frequently focus
on vital statistics regarding HIV/AIDS.
The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Data Base
This Web site, which provides HIV/AIDS surveillance data from around the
world, is maintained by the Health Studies Branch, International Programs
Center (IPC), Population Division of the U.S. Bureau of the Census. It is a
compilation of information from studies in the medical and scientific
literature, from international conferences, and the press. Information about
population groups in a selected country can be displayed, printed as a table,
or saved to a data file. The database is updated twice a year.
HIV
InSite: Searchable Database of CDC Surveillance
Statistics
HIV InSite has created a searchable database of information from CDC
that contains AIDS case counts classified by state and metropolitan area. The
current version includes data through December 1997. This Web site is a
project of the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) Positive Health
Program and the UCSF Center for AIDS Prevention Studies.
