The handbook includes the components of comprehensive sexuality education; the steps and processes involved in developing a guidelines project; suggestions for using the guidelines; suggestions for distribution and advocacy; suggestions for coalition building; and resources.

Establishing National Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education - Lessons from Nigeria
A case study of SIECUS’ experience in Nigeria, where we supported leading local organizations in a process to develop The Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Nigeria. An inspiration and a guide for advocates, this case study offers arguments for comprehensive sexuality education based on public health and international human rights standards and examples of preempting and addressing opposition.
Nigerian Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education
The framework adopted in Nigeria to promote and facilitate the development of comprehensive sexuality education programs. The Guidelines are the first national model for comprehensive sexuality education in Nigeria. They were developed in 1996 by a Task Force of leading health, education, and sexuality experts. The Guidelines identify the goals of comprehensive sexuality education, key concepts that a comprehensive programs need to cover, as well as a variety of topics that should be included.
