A quarterly international newsletter on sexuality, sexual health, and sexuality education.
Volume 3, Issue 1 - Spring/Summer 2004
News and Views on Sexuality: Education, Health and Rights
Ten years ago, the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) served as the venue for the international community's recognition that sexual health, reproductive rights, poverty, and development, were inseparable issues that required multifaceted approaches.Today, the international community looks back at the advances made while keeping a keen eye on the gathering threats to this progress.
This issue of SIECUS' international newsletter, Making the Connection, explores the emerging effort to undermine reproductive health and rights worldwide.Articles look at restrictions in the new U.S. Strategy on Global HIV, the Bush Administration's efforts to undermine the ICPD Programme of Action, and the Third World Congress of Families, an international conference sponsored by opponents of reproductive rights and sexuality education. SIECUS hopes both our domestic and international colleagues will find this information helpful in their work.
