Planned Parenthood of Tomkins County has a fun, useful, interactive, and informative Web site. Its goal is to get health information to the user in a safe and anonymous way. A unique aspect of the site is a virtual tour of its clinic that goes step by step through a typical visit led by “Spekie,” the speculum, to make people, and, in particular, youth more comfortable with their visit.

Engenderhealth’s Sexuality and Sexual Health Online Course

Engenderhealth offers a new, unique online minicourse in sexuality and sexual health. It is designed to provide a basic introduction to sexuality and to help providers of reproductive health services incorporate sexuality issues. There are six modules on topics related to sexuality. Two new minicourses are soon scheduled on STDs and HIV/AIDS.

YouandAIDS.org is the HIV/AIDS portal for South Asia. The portal, which was launched in 2000 as a South Asian HIV/AIDS platform, has been relaunched as a forum for supporting the region’s expanded mulitsectoral response to the epidemic. At the center of the portal is the participation by United Nations agencies, HIV/AIDS theme groups, governments, bilaterals, NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), the private sector, and the people infected and affected by the epidemic

Reproductive Health Outlook

Reproductive Health Outlook is a Web site produced by the Program for Appropriate Technology on Health (PATH). It provides up-to-date summaries of research findings, program experience, and clinical guidelines related to key reproductive health topics as well as analyses of policy and program implications.This Web site is especially designed for reproductive health program managers and decisionmakers working in developing countries and low-resource settings. It helps users link with quality online resources and collaborate with colleagues around the world.

Global Reproductive Health Forum

The Global Reproductive Health Forum is an Internet networking project of the Harvard School of Public Health. It provides interactive electronic forums and global discussions. It also distributes reproductive health and rights materials from a variety of perspectives through a clearinghouse and also maintains an extensive research library. It aims to encourage critical discussion about reproductive health, rights, and gender on the Internet and reach out to, involve, and globally meet the needs of underserved groups.

Whatyoudo.org is HIV Insite’s new youth-oriented Web site. Its goal is to provide unbiased, accurate, straightforward information about HIV/AIDS and to highlight the thoughts and action of youth who are affected by the epidemic. The site functions as an online forum where young people can interact, learn, and take action against HIV/AIDS.

Kaiser Media Resource Project

The Kaiser Media Resource Project of the Kaiser Family Foundation has created a special, new package of information designed to aid journalists on topics relating to reproductive and sexual health. In addition, it provides an “on-call, on-line” service for journalists seeking accurate, up-to-date information and referrals on sexuality, sexuality education, and sexual health.
